About Us

Yardville Heights Elementary School is a K-5 school committed to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning community where every child is inspired to reach their full potential. Through open communication, collaboration, and a steadfast focus on equity, we empower our students to become confident, critical thinkers and compassionate global citizens. By building strong partnerships with families and the community, we create a vibrant school environment that celebrates diversity, cultivates excellence, and prepares our students for lifelong success.

At Yardville Heights, we support our school community through:

• Comprehensive curriculums: The differentiated instruction includes small group targeted instruction for English Language Arts and Math. Teachers integrate technology and inquiry-based lessons into daily instruction, and our special area classes (art, music, library, PE, health) utilize instructional materials, and assessment instruments which produces a more relevant educational program.

• Strong support systems: Resource teachers and interventionists provide in-class and small group support, while the guidance counselor focuses on character education and social skills. We aim for excellence in all academic areas and promote positive behavior. Students learn skills in behavior management, self-esteem, and building positive character.

• Positive and engaging school climate: Our community-based learning philosophy helps us better understand and address the diverse needs of our students. This approach fosters a strong school community where everyone feels valued and supported. We encourage parental and community involvement through events, such as Back To School Night, Week of Respect, American Education Week, and Barnes and Noble Night. 

• Family Engagement: Our students’ success is due in large part to a strong home-school partnership. Parents are encouraged to participate in school activities and events, volunteer, and join the PTA. Their support helps fund class trips, celebrations, and school improvements, reinforcing our commitment to student achievement.

• High-quality instruction: Our highly qualified staff participates in professional development and research-based Professional Learning Communities to deliver effective instruction aligned with state standards. In addition, character education assemblies, small group support, and a focus on positive behavior help create a supportive learning environment.
